How to generate small text

  1. 01

    Type your text

Case does not matter — both are converted the same way.

  2. 02

    Read the result

Every letter maps to its small-capital Unicode equivalent, where one exists.

  3. 03

    Copy it

Paste it into a username, bio, or chat message.

Real small capitals, not a font trick#

CSS has a font-variant: small-caps property that does something visually similar, but it only works where you control the styling — it is useless in a Discord username or an Instagram bio, places that render plain text with no CSS at all. This tool instead swaps each letter for a distinct Unicode character from the IPA Extensions and Phonetic Extensions blocks that happens to look like a small capital, so the result is plain text that carries its own styling wherever it goes.

Why 'q' and 'x' don't change#

Unicode simply never added small-capital versions of every letter — "q" and "x" have no small-cap character in any standard block. Rather than substitute something that does not actually look like a small "q" or "x", this tool leaves those two letters as-is. It is a known, permanent limitation of the small-caps trick, not a bug specific to this tool.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as the CSS small-caps property?

No — CSS small-caps is a rendering instruction that only works where you control the stylesheet. This tool swaps each letter for a distinct Unicode character, so the result is plain text that looks small-capitalized anywhere, including places with no styling support at all, like a Discord username.

Why don't 'q' and 'x' get converted?

Unicode has no small-capital character for those two letters in any standard block, so they are left unchanged rather than replaced with something that does not actually resemble a small q or x.

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
