Image Resizer

Upload an image, set the exact width and height you need, and download the resized result — with aspect ratio locked by default so one dimension derives the other, or unlocked if you deliberately need to stretch it.

  • Exact pixel dimensions, not a percentage guess
  • Aspect ratio lock, toggleable
  • High-quality smoothing on the resize
  • Works with any image format the browser can decode
  • Runs fully client-side, nothing uploaded

How to resize an image

  1. 01

    Upload an image

Drop it in or click to choose a file.

  2. 02

    Set the dimensions

Type a width or height — the other follows automatically if the aspect ratio is locked.

  3. 03

    Download

The resized image downloads as a PNG.

Why aspect ratio is locked by default#

Typing a width and letting the height stretch to match — or vice versa — is what people actually want most of the time; an unintentionally squashed or stretched image is a common mistake with resize tools that treat width and height as fully independent. The lock is on by default and can be turned off for the deliberate cases where a specific, non-proportional size is genuinely needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does resizing reduce file size too?

Usually, yes — fewer pixels generally means a smaller file — but this tool is about dimensions, not compression ratio. For controlling file size directly, the Image Compressor tool is the better fit.

Can I resize larger than the original?

Yes, though enlarging beyond the original resolution will look softer — there is no new detail to add.

Is the image uploaded anywhere?

No. It is resized entirely in your browser using the Canvas API.
